Jesus is our greatest Example of being an overcomer. We benefit from His victory. He has overcome the world and all that is in the world. While believers sometimes resign themselves to defeat and a life without victory, all believers should chose to to join ranks with our triumphant King. We can thrive even though we are touched by the influence of two opposing kingdoms (light and darkness — Christ and the World).
